A Dark Edge Shows Before the Colour Does

Under pale linen the problem is rarely transparency. It is the outline. A dark waistband and two dark straps draw three distinct lines across a white dress well before anyone works out what colour is underneath, and no amount of good tailoring hides that. A white pair removes the lines rather than the see-through, which is why the people who own one reach for it on precisely the days the rest of the drawer is unusable.

Everything else is stripped back to hold that promise up. The front is a narrow panel with no lace to emboss its pattern into thin cloth and no hardware to catch light through it, the sides are thin low-rise straps, and the back is a true G-string. The cloth itself is 95% cotton over a cotton lining, which breathes and keeps its shape instead of clinging to it. It is cut in XXS through XL, with the chart below giving every figure in inches as well as centimetres.

White asks for one extra habit. Keep it out of a mixed load for the first few washes so it cannot take up dye from anything darker, and after that keep it out of hot water, since a hot wash sets whatever the cotton has picked up instead of lifting it. Cold, gentle, no bleach, no dry cleaner, dried flat or on a line. Intimates cannot be sent back or swapped once the sealed packet has been opened, so measuring yourself first is time well spent.
