The cells are coarse and genuinely open rather than a fine stocking mesh. Black absorbs light instead of bouncing it, so in a photograph the net looks more solid than it is; in a room it does not. Treat it as see-through and dress accordingly.

Stretch opens the cells, so the net reads denser where it is relaxed and sheerer across the bust and hip where the body pulls it.

  Hand wash cold with a mild detergent. Never a machine — open net snags on everything in a drum.

  Lay flat to dry out of direct sun. No dryer and no iron; heat kills the elastane.

  Rinse after seawater or chlorine. Both degrade stretch fibres over time.
