Three from Wet, 1 fl oz / 30 ml apiece: a pure water formula, a silicone-and-water blend sold as Gold Hybrid, and Platinum, a pure four-blend silicone. They genuinely do not feel alike, and an ounce of each is enough to settle the question.

Water Based sits closest to the body's own moisture; Wet lists it as condom compatible and toy safe, it washes off with water, and a splash of water revives it. Gold Hybrid folds silicone into a water base for the slip of one with the easy clean-up of the other, and it is glycerin free. Platinum, Wet's longest-lasting formula, works underwater, never turns sticky, doubles as a body and massage lotion, and is hypoallergenic, vegan, gluten free and non-GMO.

For a silicone toy, take the Water Based bottle: water-based lube is the standard pairing for silicone and rinses off both skin and toy easily, and pure silicone lubricant is not something to put on a silicone toy. In the shower, bath or pool, Platinum, since silicone does not wash away. Cleaning up is simplest with Water Based, then Gold Hybrid; pure silicone wants soap.
