Two chains / One collar
A collar that
drops to the sternum
A thin black strap buckles at the back of the neck and carries a flat gold curb chain in two tiers across the front. A second length of the same chain clips on at the heart ring and falls to the middle of the chest. It is meant to be worn both ways.

The drop chain ends in a rotating lobster clasp. It opens onto the heart ring one-handed and turns in its own barrel, so the chain does not wind up on itself as you move.
- 02Two tiers of flat curb chain
The upper run sits close to the throat and the lower one hangs about an inch beneath it. The open heart sits off-centre, set into the lower run.
- 03Buckles at the back
A gold buckle, a row of punched holes and a leather keeper to hold the tail flat. It fastens the way a watch strap does rather than a clasp.
Unclip it at the heart ring and you are left with a plain chain choker that will sit under a shirt collar or a crew neck. Clipped on, the chain reaches mid-chest and wants an open neckline.

The clasp is a swivel lobster. The gate is sprung and the barrel turns independently of the chain, which is what lets the drop hang straight however the collar has rotated on the neck. Above it, the strap is a thin coated synthetic with gold rivets set through folded tabs at each ring.
Gold tone here is a plating over base metal. Perfume and hairspray dull it faster than anything else, so dress first and put the collar on last.
