What happens when the light goes down

A net this open behaves very differently once you leave daylight behind. The strands stop casting their own shadow, the diamonds lose their edges, and what was obvious geometry an hour earlier turns into a soft dark wash over the leg.

In both of these rooms the grid is still perfectly readable up close and almost gone from across the bed. Warm bulbs do most of it: they flatten the contrast between black yarn and skin until the net registers as shading rather than pattern.

The scale

Small diamond, not wide open

There is a version of this garment with cells twice this size, and a version with cells half of it. S lands in between on purpose. Measured off a plain background it runs to about six diamonds across the calf: obvious at a glance, with the spans of bare skin staying short enough to keep it wearable in rooms where a wide net would be too much.

The letter refers to the mesh itself. It has nothing to do with your measurements, and the body of the garment is the same across every gauge.
